Christians follow Christ. Following Christ is not without its trials. Jesus warns as much in Luke 9:23 – “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.”
‘To come after Christ’ means to be Christ’s disciple.
‘Denying oneself’ is one way of saying, ‘let go of your selfishness, pride, and worldly goals and desires.’
‘Taking up one’s cross’ is another way of saying, ‘expect suffering for Christ’s sake.’
‘Follow Christ’ means to desire Jesus to be Lord of your life. Those who follow Christ Listen and obey the teachings of the Master. In the world Christians will experience tribulation. But because Christ has overcome the world we Christians can experience peace which surpasses all understanding (John 16:33; Philippians 4:7).
It is possible, through prayer, praise and thanksgiving, to experience the care, comfort and love of God despite our insurmountable adverse circumstances. Hope you all enjoy this video.
